19th Century Georgian Beadwork Purse

Description

Rare and exquisite 19th century (Georgian) beadwork purse with raised gold gilt metal clasp showing a dog, foliage, and flowers on each side. Intricate beadwork featuring a yellow harlequin pattern and flower design to the main body. To protect the beadwork, there is an original leather lining. The dog and hunter motif was popularised in the 1800s.

The handle is interchangeable, either use as a long single chain or adjustable double chain.

This is in pre-loved, antique condition. Upon close inspection, there are some missing beads, minor wear to the body and the leather lining, which is commensurate with age. Please see images.
